The first floor is dedicated for the Patisserie and the second floor, is the Bistro with an open space concept, only divided between non-smoking indoor and balcony tables for smoking customers, as well as a bar at the far and corner of the room. This place certainly makes a lovely place for dating, business dinner or family gatherings.

Of what we sampled that night, I enjoyed most, firstly, the Grilled Rib Eye with Apple Sauce and Yuzu Dressing. My next favourite was the Scallops, Kale and Garlic Butter.

In general, Saine Daise will currently  stay afloat in the highly competitive F&B market, because it's new, the menu's familiar to most people, beautiful place and beautiful presentation.

Rati Rati: Japanese Roll Cake

Rati Rati is a cute little bakery from Japan specialized in soft roll cake. The chef pastry had won an award in Patisserie division in Japan on 1998, and the place has emerged to five branches there. I was informed that the chef pastry flew all the way here to baked the roll cake himself while training the local chef. The place was opened on April 2012 and located at PIK, so it was not a new thing to me but as someone who is not really a sweet tooth, I never found myself wanted to try this, not even after I heard and read numerous good reviews about it.

Found my self having hard tome on choosing one, I felt like a child in a candy land forced by her mom to only pick one. I ended choosing Ange rouge roll (Strawberry roll cake) with vanilla ice cream 28k, and my friend chose Ange rouge roll (Blueberry roll cake) with vanilla ice cream 28k.

Made from natural ingredients to ensure low calorie and low cholestrol, I inhaled after the first bite. It was so good! The sponge texture, amazingly was so light and soft, filled with generous strawberry cream and jam. It was very much not the same as most of the roll cakes generally, the lightness on the texture was worth a compliment. The vanilla ice cream was okay, melted quite quickly though but it fits well with the crunchy flakes. My friend can't stop raving about her blueberry roll cake as well. I actually like her more than mine as I felt the blueberry aroma was stronger that the strawberry one.

I might not be coming back much often but the place is a definite place to be for people who love desserts. You won't be dissapointed

DAPUR BUNTUT PIK

The oxtail comes in three choices : soup, grilled, or balado. Each of them served with steamed rice, crackers, pickles, potato fritters, lime and chilli sauce, comes in three sizes, small (35k with 1pcs of oxtail), medium (60k with 2pcs of oxtails) and large (75k with 3pcs of oxtails).

The oxtails were superb! Big sizes and very tender as they use quality imported Australian beef, the sauces was really seep in and the samba ballad was very spicy. The fact they were being generous on placing the pickles and chilli jars on the table was a bonus. And I love their condense soup packed with big cuts of tomatoes, carrots and potatoes. It was very enjoyable home dish, something warm and delicious with modest presentation, making me feel like I was eating in my mom's dining room instead of a restaurant.

BELLYCIOUS MUARA KARANG - PLUIT JAKARTA

It's an exciting news how Muara Karang and Pluit area have evolving with many coffee shops and new cafes where it used to be more like humble family restaurants in the neighbourhood. One newly opened cafe caught my attention from their exterior alone, positioned few shops away from Ottoman's Coffee.

Bellycious serves a typical home cooked food. I personally find it a good thing that they come with these kind of affordable and simple home cooked meals. The good thing is their price range is pretty cheap, ranging from only 24k - 46k. The not so good thing is I didn't find their food to be as pleasant as their interior. They weren't bad, but fall into a more standard category, taste wise.

Satay "Nge - Hits" (38k)

If you familiar with the popular Sate Taichan at Senayan, this Satay Nge Hits was just like that, presentasion wise. Take wise, not so much. The meat was a bit too soft and bland.

Belly Noodle Laksa (46k)

The server strongly recommend us to have their Belly Noodle Laksa, which according to the restaurant, is their best seller and often raved by customers. It wasn't all bad, the broth was quite light and decent, we just didn't feel it was that good. But again, it all comes to personal preferences and taste, what doesn't taste good for me, might be different with others.

Bellycious Crazy Fried Rice (38k)

Finally one that quite stands out among all three is their version of crazy fried rice. Comes with quite generous toppings of sausages, meatballs and chickens, the fried rice was seasoned well. Altogether it was a good dish.

Simple home cooked food always attracts me more, though, I do really hope the taste will be improving.

BIENVENUE BISTRO PIK JAKARTA

Bienvenue could be the prettiest cafe at PIK. The building has fancy looks, something easily found around Senopati area, but not particularly at PIK.

From the name itself was clear they are an Italian restaurant, though I don't see many pasta or a single pizza on the menu. They are still opening period, which in their defence, was the sole reason behind the limited menu.

The service was good, everything was prompt and the food didn't take long to serve. It's good to have Bienvenue in the neighbourhood, still something pretty never hurt.

Sushi Masa Muara Baru Jakarta

Lately, foodie enthusiastic, especially who stays at North has been hearing news about a so called mysterious sushi place opens at a secluded area somewhere in Muara Baru. For those who never heard Muara Baru, the neighborhood mostly known for its port activities including fish shelter and warehouse complex. In conclusion, not a place to expect a sushi place or even any kinds of restaurants to open

Chawanmusi (25k)

Smooth, soft and warm Japanese custard with mushrooms and kamaboko fish cakes, I didn't find any seafood or meat inside. It was good but nothing special to be wtitten about

Tuna Spicy Sushi (35k)

This one was the affordable menu, 35k only for 6pcs of tuna spicy sushi. I didn't expect much as it looks standard but surprisingly good. I'm not sure if the fresh tuna made the whole sushi tasted different, but it came with nice flavor that we didn't even need the soy sauce to add some saltiness.

Sushi Sakura (350k)

6pcs of sushi with 1 sushi rolls. It's sort of like Omakase (leave it to the chef) where you don't know what the kinds of sushi would be on the plate. However, if there's any kinds of sushi you allergic or you don't feel like want to, you can tell the waiter upon ordering. No words needed, all were fresh and delicious.

Yes, the price range might be a bit step, some of them range in 300 - 1 million, but there are also many dishes with much affordable price, start from 35k though it might not involve much of sashimi or other imported meat. Personally, I think looking from the fresh ingredients they use, their price is still okay comparing to other Japanese dining, Kinokawa for example.

If you are someone who care on quality, this is definitely your place. Prepare to get a whole new experience of sushi dining with Japanese ambience, guaranteed.
